Wannabe Column: Miss Fashionista

The amount of make-up you carry in the bag must weigh more than the weight of the books. Always keep a mirror handy!
-
Time taken to apply make-up in the morning should be greater than the time taken to copy the assignment.
-
You need to laugh at every joke someone cracks, no matter how lame.
-
Sales/Discounts in the markets are Paradise. There can be no stopping you then. You’ve got to be a natural bargainer.
-
Your face should, under no circumstances, be left without a sun-screen in the day and your eyes without sunglasses during night.
-
Learn the technique of getting the work done. There is this one 'look' which is all it takes to get anything done.
-
The latest fashion magazines need to be subscribed to in order to check out the new styles and wear them the very next day after a brief shopping visit to Sarojini Nagar or Tibetean Market (Why waste so much money in the malls in these times of recession when you get the same stuff at dirt-cheap prices?)
-
Never carry a bag-pack (they are oh so out of fashion!). Carry a handbag which matches with your dress everyday!
-
Everything, from the nail-polish to the sandals to the hair clip must match (if not the same colour, go for things which compliment the others. But never ever, wear mismatching stuff. What if the other girl gets all the attention if your eye liner is not matching your toe nail-polish?!)
-
Remove all the acne from your face. Use as many coats of face-powder or liquid needed to cover the gross sight! Use anti-acne face wash but hide it from all others. Do a facial once a day.
-
Get a pedicure and manicure every week to get the clean look.
-
The beauty sleep should never be missed on. A minimum of 8-12 hours of sleep is a must (depending on your body type). And yes, even during exams! Looks should never age even if you get some marks less here and there!
-
Only air-hugs allowed at this time of the year to avoid all those cold and swine flu thingies from coming to you!
-
You must possess the latest cell phone and i-pod in the market to see all those jealous faces. Find out from the internet on your swanky pink, red or purple laptops (oops! sorry, net books are in! Laptops are sooo big to carry!)
-
If you don't know the answer to a question, give them the 'you are so stupid' look. If they carry on the questioning, give them the 'dah! You know it right?' look. If they still carry on, just give them the time-tested 'Whatever!' and take your bag and leave!
-
You must always be seen talking on the phone. Firstly, it relieves you from all the stress of going to the college. Secondly, it builds your social network. Your girlfriends and boyfriends need to know that they need you even if it is to pass time.
-
Your facebook (not orkut! purleez!) profile must have your best pictures and more than at least 250 friends to give you the best popularity index. Give photographs of the rich you and your friends at big malls and beautiful foreign lands. Photographs with parents are a big no-no!
-
The beauty parlour is your regular hide-out. Go every alternate day (do you think you would wash your hair at home? dah!). And keep looking ultra-glamorous with new hair-styles and looks all the time. Keep experimenting!
-
Surgeries are so in. Get that nose corrected if there is a bump in the middle or if it is too big. You need it! And never fear it. After all, you can get it operated again!
-
Never believe in what the 'other' girl tells you. She might be just saying it so that she can make you look ugly! Believe the magazines and your designers...
