Eminent Engineer Award to Prof. P. B. Sharma, Director DCE
Institution of Engineers (India) on the occasion of the Engineers Day, September 15, 2008 have conferred upon Prof. P.B. Sharma, “Eminent Engineer Award” for significant contribution to the advancement, application and practice of engineering in India during his long professional career spanning 39 years. Prof. P.B. Sharma made distinct contributions to quality education, industry relevant research and development and product innovation at IIT Delhi where he was
Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal where he was the Founder – Vice-Chancellor and
Delhi College of Engineering of which he has been the Principal, now
Director, from December 1990 . DCE innovations of Hybrid Car, Super
Mileage Vehicle , Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Autonomous Underwater
Vehicle, Moon Buggy have all earned international recognition for their world quality innovative design and
development. Others who have been recognized for their distinguished services and awarded Eminent Engineer
Award by The Institution of Engineers (India) on Engineers Day include Sh. Sukhbir Singh, Member, Engineering
Railway Board, Sh. G.S. Grover, Member Services, Telecom Commission, Govt. of India and Lt. General A.K.S.
Chandele, Director General of EME, Ministry of Defence. Engineers Day is celebrated each year through out the
country as a mark of respect to the most brilliant engineer son of Mother India, Bharat Ratna Dr. Sir M.
Visvesvaraya who remains to date as the brightest torchlight for the engineering fraternity for his

| The Class of 1959 of DCE is organising its reunion and celebrating its Golden Jubilee at the new campus, DCE on 5th Feb,2009,at 11am in college auditorium. The Class of 1959 graduated from the historic Kashmere Gate Campus of DCE. They have made a profound contribution to the growth of World Class Engineering and Technology in their chosen profession both in INDIA and Abroad. The present student community of DCE, college members of Faculty and Staff extend their warm greetings to the class of 1959 and look forward to receiving them in the new campus. DCE has once again proved its metal in the CAT examination with its 16 students clearing the CAT 2008. Out of these 16 students 13 secured percentile more than 99. Abhijeet Khanka of Production Engineering was the top scorer from DCE, he got 99.98 percentile and has received calls from 6 IIM’s |
