Kaminey!...An Inspiration,or a copy from Hollywood?
When I walked out of the theater after watching Kaminey…I had goosebumps…I wanted to go back in the hall and see the climax again and again… It waf AWEFOME!!!...A cult film…which was Bollywood’s response to Pulp Fiction and Snatch…
But about a week later…while surfing imdb… I came across the movie called True Romance(1993)…this Tony Scott movie had it’s story just like Kaminey!!! No no yaar,isme koi character F ko F nahi bolta…nor there are any twins… but still it had striking resemblance…The story goes like this… Clarence(Christian Slater) marries hooker Alabama(Patricia Arquette),he then accidentally steals cocaine from her pimp, and tries to sell it in Hollywood, while the original owners of the coke try to reclaim it… Hai na same to same!!! To verify further…some scenes were kinda totally copied,like.......
• The gangster kills Clarence’s father in exactly the same way as Bhope Bhau killed Mikhail…first the gangster jokes around with the father,both laugh on each other,then suddenly the father is shot.
• As our G…G…G…Guddu didn’t want to marry Sweety due to his career chart …same goes with Clarence,he also was career-minded and was forced by Alabama to tie the knot…truly…men are emotional fools…lolz
• It also had corrupt cops and funny drug dealers…
• To top it all,the climax…It was a ditto copy…here also the gangster
,the corrupt cop,drug dealers,etc. arrive at a single place and then all hell brakes loose…and finally every bad guy is killed!!! But let me tell you…True Romance is equally entertaining,hmmm,even better!!!…and also it had 3 things that makes it a must watch…
1. The script is written by Quentin Tarantino
2. Patricia Arquette has given very strong performance just like Priyanka Chopra…
3. Finally...it has Brad Pitt…OMG!!!...doing a small role
So guys…plz watch True Romance(download it from torrentz.com…bcoz I know no one buys or rents DVD’s today)and let me know that are my observations correct and did you like the movie or not!!!

What happens when the trailer and music of the one of the most anticipated movie of the year leaves you shocked and speechless!!! This happened to me... After Ghajini I was dying to see Asin in a movie this year…but first look of London Dreams didn’t look impressive at all…only Salman looked ok-ok,Ajay Devgan, ooo…sorry yaar…the man has changed it to ‘Devgn’ now…looked awful…
Then came its music...I thought “SEL hai to hit hi hoga…ekdum Rock On!!! types…… But WTF!!!...it was ridiculous…apart from Barso Re,no song is worth the precious MegaBytes’s of my ipod…Yaar being a musical movie, songs to nice hone hi chahiye!!! As far as the story goes…read on…
Arjun and Mannu were childhood friends.But they had little in common except their family's connection with music. Arjun's life was consumed by a passionate drive to get on stage and realize his grandfather's unfulfilled dream, So he forms a band with Zoheb and Wasim,two brothers from Pakistan. Mannu had little interest in his music and was content with remaining a child at heart with no higher ambition than enjoying the good things in life. Music becomes a survival tool for Mannu, who takes to playing in wedding bands in his village. Priya, a music enthusiast from a conservative South Indian family who is a part of Arjun’s band.Arjun wants to make it big …as he said in the trailer “England Me Ek Stadium Hai…Wembely…Jise main ek din hilana Chahta hu” So he gets Mannu to London and makes him a part of the band,,but he soon realizes he’s created the biggest threat and obstacle to his own ambitions.
As he battles his inner demons, Arjun slowly devises a sinister plan to destroy his best friend. Over a three city tour spanning Paris, Rome and Amsterdam, Arjun sends Mannu on a downward hurtling rollercoaster ride of sex and drugs That almost breaks Mannu's spirit and his love before a show at Wembley, a venue where Arjun hopes to have his moment of glory.It is then Arjun realizes true friendship…
So get ready for the ROCK ON of 2009!!!...Though the music is not ever near to it.....
Reviewer’s Tip: I believe London Dreams could work if
• The Love Triangle between Asin,Ajay and Salman is Fresh!!!
• Songs are shot well and are well fitted in the movie
• And ofcourse...all the band members should act well,like Rock On!!!

So you want to be a “Geekazoid”
In any professional college, there is a species, considered even more dangerous than the subjects they study there. And the species is ‘The Ghissu’. This species might meet you at any point in the library or in any class which is going on. They even carry a virus called ‘the bookworm’ which might catch up with you and then, you will become one of them. So, to save you, these features might help you recognise one and take the necessary precautions. Being a Geekazoid includes:
• Studying at all hours of the day
• Never in your life should you switch off your room light, what if others think you are studying less? The tension should never subside in anyone's heart!
• You must inspire everyone to open their books. And you must carry around 10-15 kgs of books or even stones in your bag, a register for every subject, a pencil box (pouches just wouldn’t do), and of course, carry one thick and heavy book of any random subject in your hand everyday to college. And, always, have 5 pens and 10 refills, so that you never run out of stock!
• You should know all the teachers, and all the teachers should know you. You must be seen talking with them like they are the only friends you have in the world as you are the best and other people of your age are not worthy enough of even standing next to you!
• Noise has no place in the hostel corridors, if anyone has to make it, it must be in the depths of their room, not exceeding levels above 80 decibels.
• Music and Dance is a thing of the past, only reserved for select occasion like your best friend's birthday, which thankfully comes only once a year.
• No sleep or maximum of 4 hours of sleep. Anything more than that, and you might have to go for the exam without studying 8 pages of the book. Isn’t that unfair? One must never spare any topic!
• No sleep at all during exams.
• Radio with earplugs a gadget to cut out on all the noise in the world including people who come to ask doubts.
• Put a carbon paper under the page you are writing on, so that the heart-attack doesn’t happen when you find out that another Ghissu might have kept you notebook forever.
• Never clear someone else's doubts even if they are from another field. What if they get a better job than you do? In fact, confuse them further, so that they can't study at all!
• Hide all your handouts and notes. Firstly, some ghissu might steal them for checking if hers are complete or not and secondly, you must not let someone else take the first position.
• Smile at everyone, who knows when you might need them.
• Gossip all the time and hear mean things from everyone about someone and then communicate it to that someone. It increases your worth and credibility but never get your name in.
• Study, study, study or at least pretend to...
